Pros:

Holds conservative values. Active in church. Constitutional originalist.
Stability. Lives in same neighborhood for decades. Married to high school sweetheart. Same church for almost 30 years.
Has BS in Criminal Justice. Worked in MoCo & Harris Co & Walker Co DA Offices. Currently a prosecutor in Grimes Co DA Office. Graduated from law School & passed State Bar.
Experienced ADA in all facets of law that JP would be dealing with; years of experience in DA's office, also has experience in JP Court
Shares some TP values, though not necessarily Tea Party.
Believes in being debt free.
2nd Amendment advocate & lifetime NRA member.
Technology oriented. Is the designer & administrator for Grimes Co DA website.
Proponent of Civil Asset Forfeiture only in criminal cases & drug cases.

Cons:

Reported in the Goldenhammer, but unconfirmed, that members of the Marc Davenport Ring(Wayne Mack and James Metts) helped to recruit Yeates. Replied on Thu (1/4) saying he had no ties to Marc Davenport whatsoever. He thinks Yollick drew some conclusions from meetings w/Wayne Mack, Craig Doyal, Judge Matt Masden and Mark Keough. Reliable source says Yeates has a political consultant(Joe Williams) not tied to Davenport.
Is open to Davenports NetData database system, though rest of court system is using the highly successful Odyssey enterprise software system from Tyler Technolgies
Very little name recongnition even though he has lived here all of his life
Relies on limited sources(personal contacts) for knowledge of political candidates.
Lacks real knowledge of current JP3 operations but only because, Mr. Yeates claims, Judge Connelly won't meet w/him to discuss operations.
Professes he will not perform weddings because of the caseload of this court.
