Pros

  • Woodlands resident since 1990; served on WCA as it transitioned into the Township.
  • Intelligent and has attorney type knowledge. Interviewed w/smooth answers as most attorneys would. Could be persuasive.
  • Sees legitimate concern with flattening revenue in light of SB 2 & The Woodlands build-out.
  • Believes the Township enabling legislation gives the Township the authority to address flooding re: Sec 54 & Sec 49 of the Texas Water Code.
  • Has reasonable view of The Woodlands Township funding non-profit projects.
  • Thinks Performing Arts Theater should be privately funded (not through the Township).

Cons

  • Voted for Beto in 2018. Conservatism may be questionable.
  • Has some links to the Woodlands Development Company.(Howard Hughes Corporation)
  • Has not done much homework into the budget of the Township. Seems to lack vision to support running.
  • Said the Township should be focused on real problems, like flooding, but that's up to MUD's, SJRA & the County (not Township).
  • Not familiar w/1 yr. handoff of road maintenance from County to City(8:00 mark on video) or 3 yr handoff of Law Enforcement.
  • Says there are zero benefits to incorporation(11:00 mark), yet the studies are not complete. Closed-minded regarding incorporation. Couldn't think of any circumstances where incorporation would be beneficial.
  • He's not for blanket Homestead Exemption because "if someone gets benefit of that, others will have to pay more in taxes", until it was pointed out to him that a trade off is to cut spending.
  • Doesn't attend Township board meetings frequently(31.30 mark).
  • Takes offense easily. Overly combative. Tends to interrupt when you're speaking.
  • Doesn't have a good grasp of Township mobility issues/solutions.
  • Representation of DRC & CSC in covenant enforcement actions could create, or be perceived to create, conflicts of interest.
