Pros

  • Earned a reputation for being one of Texas’ most conservative lawmakers fighting for fiscal restraint and accountability.
  • Proven Conservative experience in the Texas Senate
  • Exposed CRT in State Agency
  • only Texas state senator in history to never accept a penny of government money during his tenure
  • recognized for authoring legislation uncovering the largest government corruption scandal in Texas history(Dallas County Schools, that stole tens of millions from Texas taxpayors)
  • authored legislation supporting term limits, pro-life measures, constitutional carry, and school choice
  • Says Abbott, who he says governs from the left, is more concerned about re-election than properly running the state
  • would continually call the lege into session until the egregious child gender modification is addressed
  • Plans to cap state spending increases to 2% per biennium and eliminate property taxes. Income taxes are off the table. Plans to fund government entirely through consumption-based taxing
  • Eliminate substantial amounts of funding from publicly-funding state universities and will end film and art subsidies
  • His campaign uncovered evidence that the Department of Family and Protective Services was requiring CRT training for their employees
  • Believes school-funding should follow the student, not the school
  • Says Abbott's attempts tp secure the border are nothing but photo ops
  • Opposes toll roads and foreign government ownership/management of them
  • Calls his past support of high-speed rail a mistake and is now against it.
  • Strongly against tax-payer funded lobbying and will take steps to do away with it
  • Endorsed by the True Texas Project

Cons

  • Proponent of statewide election audit, though it can only be county-by-county
  • Supports the UN International Baccalaureate program, as long as it excludes leftist ideology (not sure that can be done)
