Questionnaire

General

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform?  And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes, except the Article V convention and the "Tebow" issues.

Do you support current RPT chair James Dickey in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

I support him as he is doing a good job.

Did you support liberal Texas house-speaker Joe Straus?  Why or why not?

Absolutely not. I am glad he is resigning!

Please describe what you believe are the most significant issues in this race, why and what you'll do to address them?

  1. Combatting the liberal ideology of the democrats.
  2.  Bringing in new and young people.
  3. Dealing with corruption.

We need to raise awareness and promote a healthy discussion on current public policy decisions. I would continue to get young, principled conservatives involved.

Which supreme court cases should Texas just ignore?

Several, but Roe V Wade and Obergefell V Hodges to start with.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

I like it the way it is because it should be specific and detailed as to what we believe.

As a Republican, if you had to give up one of the following core principles, which one would you select first and why?
a. pro-life;
b. 10% reduction in state, fed, local spending;
c. 2nd amendment;
d. illegal immigration;
e. foreign bases;
f.  10th amendment

e. Foreign bases. Because as John Adams says, "But she goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will recommend the general cause, by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant sympathy of her example.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself, beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom. The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. The frontlet upon her brows would no longer beam with the ineffable splendor of freedom and independence; but in its stead would soon be substituted an imperial diadem, flashing in false and tarnished lustre the murky radiance of dominion and power. She might become the dictatress of the world: she would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit."

For what offices should term limits be implemented?

No, I don’t support additional laws for term limits. The voters have the ability to elect and replace anyone they want during any election. We can’t solve voter apathy through additional laws.

What distinguishes you from your opponent?

I am a young conservative with a fresh perspective to offer and believe I would do a better job advocating conservative ideals.

Please list 3 federal agencies that are popular in our culture and should be abolished

ONLY 3? Hmm, Department of Education, Department of Energy, IRS, Department of Homeland Secreuity, EPA, TSA... etc.

Are the United States and Texas constitutions living documents?  Please answer in the context of Progressivism versus Originalism.

No it is not a living document, they are timeless principles that are largely derived from biblical teaching.

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support and why (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other)?

Other: Federal tarrifs and federal head tax meaning a flat sum per individual not a flat percentage.

2nd Amendment - guns

Do you believe the Second Amendment grants an individual right or a militia right?

Individual.

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

The tenth ammendment clearly reserves the right of the individual states to have jurisdiction over all issues not enumerated to the federal government, therefore, a state can nullify any federal action that over reaches its power. The federal government should do nothing.

Other civil liberty

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, 13 weeks of gestation, birth, 5 days old, 18 years old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Life clearly begins at conception. As a precinct chair I can't make law, but as an individual I have advocated for the Abolition of Abortion Act of 2017 (HB 948)

Do you support or oppose federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other agencies that perform abortions, both in the U.S. and abroad (even if they use money derived from other sources)?

I strongly oppose federal funding for PP and other agencies that murder children.

Education

Do you support or oppose allowing parents direct the flow of federal education funds (e.g., to their school or home school of choice)? Support? Oppose? Please explain.

I believe in limited government, therefore I oppose anyone using public funds for private education choices. This WILL result in government control over private forms of education as there is NEVER money without oversight. Instead we should significantly reduce the tax burden on parents and encourage them in taking responsbility for their child's education. Government Education is a plank in the Communist Manifesto and should not be encouraged as the normal means of education.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

Eliminate the incentives created by "free" handouts. Streamline and reform legal immigration.

Transportation

Do you support or oppose the referendum passed by both the MoCo GOP Executive Committee and SREC to allow voters, at the statewide level, to decide in the voting booth whether or not they want a particular toll road?  Why or why not?

Yes, I support such a referendum because a toll road is a double tax and should have voter approval.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

The ideals laid forth in the original intent of the Consitutition and Declaration of Independence together with the principles taught in Scripture most accurately define conservative ideaology for me. Foremost among these are the right to life, liberty, and property.
