Questionnaire

General

This is a Republican primary race.  Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform?  And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes

Do you support current RPT chair James Dickey in full and if not, what do you disagree with?

At this time, based on the information I have on hand I find no opposition to Mr Dickey

Did you support liberal Texas house-speaker Joe Straus?  Why or why not?

If he supports tradition, limited government and civil society, along with religious, regional, national, and Western identity I will support.  If he does not then I will oppose

Please describe what you believe are the most significant issues in this race, why and what you'll do to address them?

Many officials do not support limited government and limited taxation.  For us to remain prosperous these need to be addressed.  I will support measures that will limit government and reduce taxation

Which supreme court cases should Texas just ignore?

I would support opposition along the lines of the 10th amendment.

There's discussion about making major revisions to the RPT Platform. Please describe the nature of any major changes you support.

If it stresses tradition, limited government and civil society, along with religious, regional, national, and Western identity I will support.

As a Republican, if you had to give up one of the following core principles, which one would you select first and why?
a. pro-life;
b. 10% reduction in state, fed, local spending;
c. 2nd amendment;
d. illegal immigration;
e. foreign bases;
f.  10th amendment

None of the above. To cave on any of the aforementioned issues would compromise all of the others.   You can point to any of the above and when you have seen them compromised one or many of the others were compromised.

For what offices should term limits be implemented?

All

What distinguishes you from your opponent?

~Not Answered Yet~

Please list 3 federal agencies that are popular in our culture and should be abolished

  • Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • National Endowment for the Arts
  • National Endowment for the Humanities

Are the United States and Texas constitutions living documents?  Please answer in the context of Progressivism versus Originalism.

I believe in original intent and original meaning theories.  You don't go back and "reinterpret" the original to suit your needs.  If you need to "update it" then you can amend it with a supermajority.  It is not meant to be easy to change with the current political winds.

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support and why (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other)?

Phase out current system in favor of a flat tax

2nd Amendment - guns

Do you believe the Second Amendment grants an individual right or a militia right?

Individual

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

The 10th Amendment is clear,  If a right is not granted to the Federal Government and is not prohibited then that right belongs to the States. States absolutely have the right of nullification provided it can be proven in a court holding jurisdiction that the law is not enumerated in the Constitution.  The states and the federal government needs to abide by this judgment.

Other civil liberty

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, 13 weeks of gestation, birth, 5 days old, 18 years old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

At conception & I will support legal measures to uphold this position and oppose those that do not uphold it.

Do you support or oppose federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other agencies that perform abortions, both in the U.S. and abroad (even if they use money derived from other sources)?

Oppose.

Education

Do you support or oppose allowing parents direct the flow of federal education funds (e.g., to their school or home school of choice)? Support? Oppose? Please explain.

Yes, the taxes belong to the taxpayers.  The Parents are responsible for the education of the children.  It follows they should be able to choose where their tax dollars are spent.

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

As a sovereign nation, we have the right to protect our borders.  Stop providing incentives to illegals such as food stamps and welfare.  These should be reserved for legal immigrants and citizens.

Transportation

Do you support or oppose the referendum passed by both the MoCo GOP Executive Committee and SREC to allow voters, at the statewide level, to decide in the voting booth whether or not they want a particular toll road?  Why or why not?

Support, a toll is a Tax.  Voters should decide since they are the ones being taxed.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

Being a conservative to me means stressing tradition, limited government and civil society, along with religious, regional, national, and Western identity
