Elected to the CISD School Board in 2014. Montgomery County resident since 1997. Wife is former employee of CISD (17 years) - Elementary School Teacher, & Counselor, District Crisis Counselor, High School Counselor. My wife and I have four children and two grandchildren.

While on the board, I have enjoyed my service and contributed to:

  1. Keeping our tax rate low (no tax rate increases during my time on the board)
  2. Keeping our budget balanced and as low as possible
  3. More effective bus transportation
  4. More funding for CTE programs districtwide
  5. Providing our students the tools needed to be successful

MCTP Score of: 61 Source

Pros

  • Seems friendly
  • Well known and currently involved in local govt (CISD).

Cons

  • While he answered out questionnaire, he didn't come in for a video interview when offered multiple times.  An automatic 25 point deduction(per Vetting policy).
  • Not viewed as a conservative and generally aligns with the Uni-Party side of the county
  • By his positions and votes as CISD board, there's legitimate concern that he's a liberal
  •  In this video, CISD Board Member Tiffany Nelson states that CISD has a $23 Million shortfall this budget year.
  • His statement on the questionairre that "this district needs a representative that 'represents our community values', is laughable since the Texas Tribune just  came out ID'g his opponent (Steve Toth) is the most conservative in the state.
