General

Please describe what you believe are the most significant issues in this race, why and what you'll do to address them?

I believe we need to band together as constitutional conservatives to make sure that Montgomery County continues to be a strong supporter of conservatives placed in office at the state and federal level. It is the precinct chairs job to lead the way through volunteer efforts. It is my intention to seek volunteers who will help elect future conservatives.

Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

I agree with the RPT platform. My intention is to support it and help others catch our vision.

What differentiates you from your opponents?

I have been involved in some form or fashion with Conservative Republican politics for the last 30 + years. I have lived in Montgomery County for the last 47 years and my conservative beliefs grow stronger everyday. My life speaks of my conservative values. I do not believe my opponent can say the same.

What best describes your political ideology most(circle only one).
1.        Republican
2.        Grassroots
3.        Conservative
4.        Tea Party

I believe that I am all of the above. I am a Conservative Republican who agrees with the ideologies presented by the Tea Party. I also know that the people who work at the Grassroots level are the ones who influence the party to stand strong in their conservative beliefs. So if I have to choose only one I will choose conservative.

Please list 3 federal agencies that are popular in our culture and should be abolished

Should Texas GOP limit their elected officials to 8 years or less from the same office, even though it will force some good candidates to leave an office?

Yes I agree with this thought. Sadly even the strongest individual can find themselves out of touch with the people when they spend too many years in office. If our elected officials were aware that their terms were limited and they truly cared about the future of our nation, they would help to put the right people in office so that we would continue to have good candidates. Everyone has excellent ideas they can bring to the table. When one man stays too long he may become corrupted by the office.

When you leave office what accomplishment/s do you want to be your hallmark, your legacy, and why?

I hope to be seen as a peacemaker. I want to help influence our community, our schools and our churches to be bold in standing for constitutional conservative ideas.

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other) and why?

I prefer a consumption tax. I pay taxes for the items that I use. I am against property tax and an income tax that varies based on a sliding scale.

A couple of years ago, a resolution was put forth by MoCo GOP to institute a 20% Homestead Exemption.  Did you support or oppose this and why?

I would need to read more about the resolution in order to make a definitive decision. However I am strongly opposed to taxes on my home. I know there is a need to assess taxes, however I am very much in favor of Homestead exemptions.

2nd Amendment - guns

Do you believe the Second Amendment grants an individual right or a militia right?

The Second Amendment grants Freedom's to individuals not a group of individuals such as a militia.

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

Any power not originally granted to the federal government in the Constitution belongs at the state level. The federal government is a necessary portion of our country, but they should not run every aspect of our lives. The state and the individuals should be afforded all possible rights.

Other civil liberty

Do you support or oppose federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other agencies that perform abortions, both in the U.S. and abroad (even if they use money derived from other sources)?

I do not support any agency or person who assist women killing children. I am strongly opposed to Federal funding to any agency that performs abortions here, abroad, in the present or in the future. I will never support abortion of any form.

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

A human is created at conception. All humans have a right to life.

Education

Do you support or oppose allowing parents direct the flow of federal education funds (e.g., to their school or home school of choice)? Support? Oppose? Please explain.

I believe a parent should have 100% control over the choices made for their children. I support allowing parents to direct the flow of federal education funds. As a teacher who has taught in private school, public school and in a homeschool environment I believe I can say without a doubt that a parent should have the right to use their money towards their choice of education. Both public and private schools teach children according to their ideologies. Not all Christians have the same standards. Not all private schools who profess Christianity have the same standards as myself. I know what ideologies I want my children to have. I am the best person to make those choices not the federal government.

Ethics

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

As a Precinct chair I not only believe in becoming involved but I believe it is my duty to be involved in Republican primaries. As a Precinct chair I have the duty to learn about the Republicans in our primaries and help inform those who are voting.

What's your impression of GOP Speaker Dennis Bonnen after he was caught offering a Quid Pro Quo to Empower Texans Michael Quinn Sullivan?  Should Speaker Bonnen resign?  Should he suffer legal ramifications for his action/s?

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

None

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

In terms of protecting our borders I agree with the wall, I agree with detention centers and I agree with simply not allowing them to cross into our nation. I do not know how to fix the current dilemma, but I do believe if our borders looks more like the borders of every other nation we would have fewer illegals in our country. I also believe if we stopped providing for those individuals by taking from citizens the influx of illegals would slow down if not cease.

Amnesty comes in many forms.  What's your view as it pertains to Texas?

I disagree with amnesty for individuals who have illegally entered our country and have been avoiding the path to citizenship.

Transportation

Do you support or oppose the referendum passed by both the MoCo GOP Executive Committee and SREC to allow voters, at the statewide level, to decide in the voting booth whether or not they want a particular toll road?  Why or why not?

I am against toll roads. However that being said I do believe it is the voters right and responsibility to make those decisions.

Did you take a public position on the May 9, 2015 Road Bond, and if so, what was it? And in a few sentences, explain why.

I am strongly against bonds. A bond is simply a way to borrow money in the present and force our children and grandchildren to pay the price.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

A conservative is an individual who believes in small government, true freedom of religion, true freedom of speech, and a responsibility to uphold the Constitution. A conservative is a person who believes that each person has a right to spend their wages according to their belief system. A conservative is someone who desires to see their Nation and those who live within her Nation to thrive.  The conservative beliefs in hard work. A conservative believes that if you don't work you should not earn rewards off the backs of others.

Do you support the Montgomery County Republican Party By-Laws as adopted by the CEC on 6/26/18?  And if not, why not?

Yes I support the most recently adopted bylaws. I support them because they were adopted according to Republican party standards in addition to the fact that I agree with them.
