Questionnaire

General

Please describe what you believe are the most significant issues in this race, why and what you'll do to address them?

1)  Support of conservative, grassroots Republican Party Bylaws passed by a majority vote of the Executive Committee (GOP Precinct Chairs) on June 26, 2018.

2)  Support of the new bottom up, not top down control of the local Republican Party.

3.  Support of the conservative resolutions which have been passed by the Executive Committee during this election cycle.  These resolutions were enabled by passing the new Bylaws in 2018.  .

Do you promise, if elected, to abide by the RPT platform? And if not, please enumerate what problems you have.

Yes!  I will abide by the RPT platform and I will strive to keep the platform planks strongly conservative.

What differentiates you from your opponents?

1)  I support the Republican Party Bylaws passed by a majority vote of the Executive Committee (GOP Precinct Chairs) on June 26, 2018.  My opponent has not only opposed the new Bylaws, she has also encouraged the Party Chairman not to cooperate with the new Bylaws, thus promoting heavy division within the Party.

2)  I support of the new bottom up, not top down control of the local Republican Party.  My opponent has supported control of the Party primarily by the County Chairman.

3) My opponent was censured by Montgomery County Republican Party in June 2019 for founding & presiding over a "fake Republican" PAC before the 2018 General Election.  This PAC - "the Republican Voters of Texas PAC endorsed some of the same candidates in the November 2018 election that Democrats were endorsing in non-partisan races and most notably did not endorse Brian Boniface, a known Conservative Republican and outspoken supporter of the new MCRP bylaws even though Mr. Boniface was endorsed by the MCRP in his non-partisan race for the Woodlands Township Board Position 2 versus a known Democrat."   https://mcrptx.org/resolutions/2019/6/11/resolution-condemning-deceptive-electioneering-by-the-republican-voters-of-texas-pac

Conservative

Please list 3 federal agencies that are popular in our culture and should be abolished

Environmental Protection Agency, Dept. of Education, National Endowment of the Arts, Internal Revenue Service

Almost all federal agencies need review and overhaul, in my opinion.

Should Texas GOP limit their elected officials to 8 years or less from the same office, even though it will force some good candidates to leave an office?

YES!   -For many reasons.

When you leave office what accomplishment/s do you want to be your hallmark, your legacy, and why?

As my legacy, I would like to leave a well-functioning GOP precinct for the next conservative GOP Precinct Chairman.  I already have a good walk list of Republican Primary voters, along with volunteers who can help me reach Republicans with voter info.  I also presently have over 200 email addresses for Pct 31 & I'd like to continue increasing that means of swift communication. In addition, I'd like to have more cell phone numbers to be able to text short messages and reminders.  I'd like for our neighborhood to help keep Texas red for many more years to come!

Taxes

What form of federal tax law do you support (e.g., current, flat tax, fair tax, other) and why?

--I would like to see the IRS abolished - certainly reorganized!

A flat tax is a type of income tax.  The fair tax is a sales tax & would increase the cost of everyday goods and services.  No matter what, we need an overhaul on taxation.  I would be open to a possible combination of the two types.  I like the idea of a flat tax with the potential of deductions for tax cerdits & other deductions.   But I also think there's merit in the fair tax option, with no tax on essential items.  Do you have any idea how many people get by without reporting income at all?  A fair tax would guarantee that they would be paying some of their so-called "fair share."

A couple of years ago, a resolution was put forth by MoCo GOP to institute a 20% Homestead Exemption.  Did you support or oppose this and why?

SUPPORT!   I would like to see property taxes eliminated entirely.  Many people have to sell their homes because of the egregious taxation.  (Reigning in wasteful government spending is a great way to help lower taxes.)

2nd Amendment - guns

Do you believe the Second Amendment grants an individual right or a militia right?

Individual Right.  (And I have a concealed handgun license.)

10th Amendment

Please explain your interpretation of the Tenth Amendment and the principle of nullification. Do states have a right of nullification? What should the federal government do if a state attempts nullification?

According to the 10th Amendment, the federal government can only exercise the powers that are provided within the Constitution.  All other powers that are not directly referred to in the Constitution belong to the individual states.  The federal government should not intrude in issues where states have clear jurisdiction, but the Tenth Amendment has been almost obliterated over the years.

Because of so much federal overreach, some leaders are now advocating state nullification as a constitutional solution.  They believe that a state has the right to declare a federal law unconstitutional, thereby nullifying that law.  There are many good conservatives on both sides of this issue.  If a state attempts nullification, I believe the issue should be settled in court.  - We need to elect better representatives to reverse this federal overreach!

Other civil liberty

Do you support or oppose federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other agencies that perform abortions, both in the U.S. and abroad (even if they use money derived from other sources)?

OPPOSE

At what point should the "right to life" or "personhood" be granted to new human beings (e.g., at conception, birth, 5 days old, etc)? What action, if any, will you take to reflect this in law?

Personhood at conception.  I will support laws that support life for unborn babies.  The only exception I would make would be in a very rare case, to save the life of the mother, whose life is at least as valuable as the life of the baby.  (This exception should not be necessary after the baby is viable.)

Education

Do you support or oppose allowing parents direct the flow of federal education funds (e.g., to their school or home school of choice)? Support? Oppose? Please explain.

I SUPPORT allowing parents to direct the flow of education funds for educating their children - without any major government strings attached.

Ethics

Do you agree with precinct chairs involvement in republican primaries? Why or why not?

By all means, Precinct Chairs should be involved in Republican Primaries.  They need to give constituents helpful resources to get informed before all major elections.  I think it's helpful for constituents to have access to endorsements & recommendations from conservative organizations & activists who attend meetings & are involved with the Party throughout the 2 year election cycle.  Constituents should do their own homework & make final decisions themselves.  (I never TELL people how to vote, even though I have many people who ask me who I'm voting for.  I make personal recommendations.)

What's your impression of GOP Speaker Dennis Bonnen after he was caught offering a Quid Pro Quo to Empower Texans Michael Quinn Sullivan?  Should Speaker Bonnen resign?  Should he suffer legal ramifications for his action/s?

He should resign now in disgrace.  And yes, he should suffer legal ramifications.  Elected officials should not be above the law!   Have we really grown so soft on crime?

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

NO

Immigration

What, if anything, should be done to protect our borders from illegal immigration?

Build walls, enforce our laws, put an end to sanctuary cities, tough on crime, deport illegal aliens, no drivers licenses, no voting, no jobs

Amnesty comes in many forms.  What's your view as it pertains to Texas?

Amnesty?  I say, go back where you came from and apply for citizenship legally like my grandparents and great grandparents did!   Get in line.  Come here to assimilate with us, learn the language, respect our flag and our constitutional republic.  Honor the MANY heroes who gave their lives to provide us with the blessings of freedom we enjoy here.  My heart aches for you if you were born somewhere else, but the USA can't take in the entire world.

Transportation

Do you support or oppose the referendum passed by both the MoCo GOP Executive Committee and SREC to allow voters, at the statewide level, to decide in the voting booth whether or not they want a particular toll road?  Why or why not?

I  SUPPORTED the referendum.  Voters should decide whether they want a particular toll road.  The people themselves need to decide how necessary they think a toll road is.  And if a toll road is built, the tolls should end when the road is paid for.

I'm AGAINST turning freeways which are already constructed into toll roads & toll lanes.

Did you take a public position on the May 9, 2015 Road Bond, and if so, what was it? And in a few sentences, explain why.

Yes, I opposed the May 9 Road Bond - $350 MILLION.   It included too much junk, including maintenance, which should be covered by our existing county taxes.  Most of my constituents were against the "Woodlands Parkway Extension" as well.  We needed a county wide transportation plan in place.

Other

What does being a conservative mean to you?

--Pro-Constitution & Bill of Rights, less government control, grassroots leadership. ("The larger the government, the smaller the citizen.")   Separation of powers.  The USA is a republic, not a democracy.

--Pro-biblical values as opposed to secular humanism  (ex, biblical justice, not social justice)

Do you support the Montgomery County Republican Party By-Laws as adopted by the CEC on 6/26/18?  And if not, why not?

Yes!  The Bylaws were duly passed by a majority of the CEC Precinct Chairs attending the meeting.  These Bylaws gave more authority to the Precinct Chairs & therefore, our grassroots Republicans.
