Questionnaire

General

What are the 3 largest challenges currently facing this position/office and your road map to address them?

1. If I am the only grassroots conservative to be elected this cycle, our uphill battle is that much more challenging right off the bat. This current iteration of the MISD school board has not had a contested vote in over 4 years. That means that they truly believe (or at least are voting as if they beleive) that this administration is doing things perfectly 100% of the time, and I think we all know that isn't the case. As long as the school board is declining to use its oversight over the administration, we are in store for more bad decisions down the line.

2. Magnolia is a rapidly growing community. We currenlty have almost 14,000 students in MISD. By 2030 we are projected to hit 20,000. That means a lot of major expenses in our future. Those expenses need to be managed with care and paid for with a mind to NOT RAISE TAXES. Proper budgeting is in order.

3. An informed public is an active public. We need to do so much more to be actively transparent with the parents and residents of our district. I want to make sure that they are engaged with the process and knowledgable about what is happening in this school district. I want wide open budgets, a monthly newsletter detailing past and future matters up for vote with the board, and I will personally committ to be available to anyone who wishes to speak with me at any time. I would encourage my fellow board members to do the same.

Education

What are three reasons why you think you are the best candidate running for this Board position?

1. I represent integrity without compromise. I will not be swayed from my conservative Christian beliefs.

2. I am passionate about protecting our kids from the influences of the degenerate left.

3. I am not afraid to speak my mind and swim against the current. I will challenge the status quo.

What is your position about parental choice and charter schools?

Because I am completely in favor of parental rights, I beleive in parents having the right to choose to send their children to charter schools. But I wish to encourage parental vigilance and scrutiny to go hand in hand with those parental rights. The autonomy that charter schools operate under in the construction of thier curriculums necessitates caution.

In your opinion, what are the three most important roles of the school board and if elected, how would you contribute to those important roles??

1. The Budget

2. The Curriculum

3. The Superintendent

I plan to dig deep into the budget to make the administration justify all planned expenses. I plan to make sure that the curriculums are free of leftist dogma. And I plan to make sure that we have the best person for the job of Superintendent in place.

What is the State of Texas school system ranked in literacy and what would your plan be to make it No. 1 in the country?

We were ranked 46th in literacy last time I looked. There is certainly more that could be done at the local level to help this cause. I think the best way to begin would be targeted interventions. Programs like *The Third Quest are proven to increase reading fluency in students in grades 5-12.

I also feel that teaching writing skills helps to develop literacy more than anything. Teachers that use worksheets are lazy. Teachers that develop writing skills are true educators.

*I am not specifically advocating for this particular program. More research would be needed before I would endorse it.

Briefly explain how American history should be taught to our students.

American History should be taught through a lens of gratitute. We need to teach our children that everything that they take for granted today was bought and paid for with the hard work and blood of those that came before us.

Should the MISD Board have total & final authority on what teaching materials are used in the classromm? Please explain fully.

No, that should be decided at the local level. We are the ones who have to pay for those materials, we should decide what matrials are used.

How much access do you believe parents should have to their children's curriculum? classroom? teacher? online?

Full transparency is necessary. At all levels. Parents deserve as much access as possible.

What's your opinion of programs such as Common Core curriculum? Critical Race Theory? Social Emotional Learning? International Bacculaureate?

Common Core is an utter failure. CRT is a grift. SEL is a trojan horse for leftist activists to use as they see fit. And IB is an incredible waste of tax payer money. In MISD we recently spent almost $38,000 on exams alone. That is just for test materials.

Do you support allowing all students to use bathrooms, showers and locker rooms, as well as participate in sports, based on the gender with which they identify, not the sex they are assigned to at birth?

Absolutely not. And for the record, I do not use the term 'assigned at birth'. That is the terminology of the left. We aren't assigned a sex. We are born in God's image as he sees fit.

The SBOE has been charged by Governor Abbott with developing standards for books found in school libraries to prevent pornography from getting into the hands of our schoolchildren. What is your position on the development of these important standards?

I was advocating for this type of legislation long before this was implimented. I released a video discussing this issue on my campaign facebook page as well as on Nextdoor. I look forward to helping to keep these books far away from the kids of our district.

Do you support the use of the 1619 Project, or similar curriculum, as the most accurate portrayal of the founding of America?

No, this is fiction created by a racist grifter. It does not reflect reality and it is damaging to race relations in this country. The author of this non-historical "journalistic" endevour has also recently shared her ridiculous opinion that tipping in restaurants is rooted in racism. This is not a person who should be taken seriously.

Would you be in favor of returning prayer to every classroom in the state?

Yes, I would love to see this happen.

Would you agree that our public school systems are not education systems; they are built on the Dewey and Mann systems of humanism?

“Change must come gradually,” Dewey wrote in an 1898 essay calling for schools to place less emphasis on reading and writing, and more emphasis on collectivism. “To force it unduly would compromise its final success by favoring a violent reaction.”

This approach seems especially poignant at the present moment. Every step the government has taken to take more control over education has been a step closer to a Godless-socialist dream that Dewey wanted to see sweep across America.

We must stand up and turn back the tide by taking conscious steps to reaffirm the importance of academics, teach kids to read and write proficiently, and bring God back into the classroom.

How much influence does the board have on the actual classroom curriculum used? What is your plan to achieve that?

It is my understanding that when new curriculum systems are purchased, that the board has the right to review and approve those systems. I plan to be vigilant and do my due diligence at all times.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcys?

No.

Health care

Would you support a district policy mandating all students and staff wear face coverings to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

Absolutely not. Masking is virtually useless. During the height of the COVID-19 hysteria, my stance was that masks should be a personal choice. At this point though, if someone close to you is still wearing one, it may be time for an intervention.

Would you support a district policy that requires all staff members and students to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

If there is a hill I must die on, it’s this; The government has no business forcing anyone to undergo any sort of medical procedure or take any type of medication against that person’s will. And that withholding education or employment from those that decline their medical tyranny is egregious and must not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Other

Do you believe a teacher should be required to use a student’s preferred pronoun?

Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered ‘five’, Lincoln told them that the answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg. And so it is with this issue. I don’t blame the misguided child that tries to bend reality to their own will. I blame the adults that allow them to attempt to do so. Caring adults should not and must not participate in the delusions that these kids harbor. These kids must learn to face life on life’s terms.
