Abraham George

declared

Former Collin County GOP Chairman and SREC Member for Senate District 8, Abraham is the embodiment of the American Dream. He legally immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 16. Abraham has grown a successful business right here in Texas, served the community through many non-profit organizations, volunteered as a campaigner for conservative Republican candidates, pushed Republican priorities at legislative sessions, held elected officials accountable, and helped grow the party.

I was born in Kerala, India, the son of Indian parents who are both preachers of the Gospel. Let me share with you my journey as Abraham George, a child who accepted Jesus as his savior and grew up on a farm in India with his sister, listening to stories from his grandfather who lived in the United States and was also a preacher of the Gospel.

When I was just 2 years old, my parents embarked on a 14-year quest to secure visas to the United States. Finally, when I was 16 and my younger sister was 8, our family received the visas, allowing us to legally emigrate to the U.S. This was a country my parents dreamed of raising us in—a land of freedoms and opportunities for those who worked hard. In 1996, we became legal immigrants and settled in Carrollton, Texas.

At age 16, with limited English-speaking skills but strong in reading, math, and science, I enrolled at High School. After a few days of testing, they told me I could go to college if I wished, as I had already completed high school in India. Despite being ready for college, I needed to help support my family. That summer, I took on a job as a janitor's assistant at an IT circuit board manufacturing facility. Despite the challenges, I persevered and earned paychecks to support my family. Once the summer was over, my employer realized I wasn’t going back to high school and moved me to the circuit board production line. I gained technical and IT training at Collin County Community College and Dallas County Community College.

As my English improved, I progressed from production to IT roles and eventually became the Sales Manager by age 22. After nearly 6 years, my family and I became American citizens—a day I will never forget! I later ventured into the financial services and healthcare software industries, founding and running successful companies. In 2012, I started a new company, which I still lead today. My proudest achievement, however, has been my family—my daughter Sarah and son Abel.

I understand hard work and sacrifice, having built businesses, met payrolls, secured capital, and navigated economic challenges. I've witnessed firsthand the importance of preserving freedoms and values that inspired me to become an American citizen.

Now, why do I seek to be the State Party Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas? I believe in electing true Republicans who uphold our values and prioritize our party's agenda. We cannot wait for politicians to act; we must hold them accountable. We need to secure our border, bring transparency and accountability to our elections, and work on all our priorities. With a Republican majority in the Texas House, Senate, and holding the governor's office, we should be able to push our priorities without hindrance. We must stop putting Democrats in committee chairs, hold Republicans who are working against our agenda accountable, and bring faith back to the grassroots that our party and our elected officials are on their side.

In summary, I came to America believing in the American dream and became that dream. With a unique perspective from India, I value and cherish the rights and freedoms that America offers. I am running for Chairman to represent and fight for Texas, expressing my gratitude for the gift of citizenship bestowed upon me by the United States and the great state of Texas.

I am thankful the opportunity to connect with you and MCTP for putting this document together! God bless y’all! See you in San Antonio.

Questionnaire

General

Name 3 primary reasons why you are running for RPT Chair (i.e. including what changes, if any, are needed).

My priorities are simple:

- Win in November 2024
- Secure our elections
- Secure our border
- Close the primaries
- Pass legislative priorities
- Hold elected officials accountable to our priorities and principles
- Recruit, train, and elect Republicans to local elections

- Build the party apparatus with technology and training.

- Open regional offices.

Do you believe in the Texas Republican Party Platform? Do you feel it should be downsized? Please explain.

I believe in our platform. Our platform should be followed by every Republican elected official. Our priorities should be the priority for all Republican elected officials in the state. I do not believe we need to downsize the platform. We may need to define some of the planks, but that is why we are meeting every two years.

The election process in choosing a House Speaker appears to be broken. What can you do to fiix it?

I am the only candidate who has signed the contract with Texas. Every Republican House Representative must agree to elect a speaker who will advance Republican priorities. There are talks about asking the speaker to be elected by the general public, but for the time being, I believe we can achieve this by holding House Representatives accountable to our rule that only Republicans will choose a Republican speaker from its caucus, and rules should be put in place to hold them accountable and remove them if they do not adhere to the priorities of our party.

Do you believe the Texas Election Code should be removed from the Party Rules and if so, why?

I supported removing the Texas Election Code from our party rules in the last convention and i will advocate for that moving forward as well. We are a private organization, not a taxpayer-funded entity. We should be able to run our party at the will of our delegates and officers. It is an outright overreach of the government to control our party by imposing laws that choke our party principles.

What should be the legislative priorities for the coming session?

- Secure our Elections
- Secure the Border and Protect Texans

- Stop giving Democrats Committee Chairmanships

- Close our Primary

- STOP DEI and CRT on alll educational institutions

- Medical Freedom and No Vaccine mandades

- Ban Gender Modification of Children
- Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids
- Abolish Abortion in Texas
- Defend Our Gun Rights
- Protect Parental Rights and Ensure Educational Freedom

- Make Local Elections Partisan

- Move all elections to November and hold primaries for all elections

Should Texas GOP limit their elected officials to 8 years or less from the same office, even though it will force some good candidates to leave an office?

Absolutely! YES!

Should the Republican Party close its primaries. Why or why not?

We must close our primaries. We cannot afford to have Democrats crossing over to our primaries and selecting Republicans who will work against our principles, priorities, and platform. We need to elect strong conservatives who will secure our border, safeguard our elections, and prevent gender mutilation of minors—issues that Democrats oppose. Why would we want their policies influencing our primary elections?

I understand there are areas such as South Texas where we need to be strategic about closing primaries, and we must study and create a strategy that will work for all County parties.

The SREC is tasked with enforcing the Rules adopted at the last convention. Have they done their jobs and if not, what & why not and how can you fix it?

I believe the SREC and the party have done a good job given the rules we have in place. I think we should strengthen the rules and give county parties and the SREC more power to hold elected officials accountable to the party platform, principles, and priorities.

Are you willing to call out Legislators that will not support the Party Platform?

YES! I believe in holding elected officials accountable to their promises and our party platform. If they do not want to do that, they should be running as a Democrat. The party and the grassroots own the name Republican, and anyone using the name to get elected should be and will be held accountable.

At an SREC meeting, if a motion was up for petitioning the State of Texas to release RPT from state law, in exchange for the State of Texas not providing tax funds to defray election costs, would you vote for or against? Why?

I will vote for it. We can fund our primaries with the money we receive through filing fees and administrative fees. This will prevent the overreach of legislators and government in our primaries.

In past sessions, legislators who do not want to follow the party platform and our principles have filed and moved bills that would hinder our operations and give them more power. This includes making the RPT Chairman race and SREC race part of the primary instead of allowing convention delegates to elect them. This is a clear overreach by a few legislators who are worried that the party will hold them accountable to their campaign promises.

They want the Austin lobby and the special interests to spend millions of dollars and take the party away from the grassroots. We cannot let that happen.

As a Republican, if you had to give up one of the following core principles, which one would you select first and why?
a. pro-life;
b. 10% reduction in state, fed, local spending;
c. 2nd amendment;
d. illegal immigration;
e. foreign bases;
f.  10th amendment

Sorry, I am not willing to give up on any of that.

Budget

Fundraising for the party is a big part of the RPT Chairs job. How does fundraising this year compare w/prior years? How is the fundraising going that will eventually be used to meet all expenses the RPT incurs, including the state convention? Please explain.

I agree that fundraising is a big part of the Chairman's job. I believe I have already proven myself by raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Republican Party in the past couple of years. We achieved this by taking a strong stand on our conservative principles. Just like when Lara Trump became the RNC chair, people started giving money to the RNC with the expectation of a grassroots movement, and the funds will be used to empower the 2024 election. Our party has a strong financial foundation, and I can easily build on it. I am the only candidate in this race who can claim that I've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Republican Party in the past 4 years.

Ethics

Is there anything in your background of an embarrassing nature that should be explained before your election? Arrests/Convictions? Bankruptcies?

None

Who are the top 2 donors to your campaign?

Abraham George (myself)

Texans United for Conservative Majority

What is your current family & employment situation that enables you to take on the responsibilities of the State Chairmanship?

I own a business, and my wife is a nurse at a local hospital. We are financially secure, and I have the freedom to do this job. As the Chairman of the Collin County Republican Party, you can verify this—I spend over 50 hours at the headquarters every week. I am happy to do that and more for the Republican Party of Texas.

Immigration

Amnesty comes in many forms.  What's your view as it pertains to Texas?

We should not entertain this idea, as the Biden regime is trying to destroy our nation. Our goal is to deport all illegals as soon as possible. As the Chairman I will not be supporting any version of the amnesty.

Other

In your opinion, who runs the County Executive Committees(CEC) - the elected County Chair or the elected Precinct Chairs?

It is a combination of both the County Chair and the Precinct Chairs. Both roles are distinctly different. Neither can act alone; they must work together toward one goal, which is to advance the Republican agenda.

What's your opinion of RPT Platform Plank 248, regarding the CEC electing their chairman, like the Congress and State Legislature elects their speakers, rather than in the primary?

I support this and once we remove the election code, we should do it!

What would you be willing to do to rein in rogue county chairs?

Currently, since it is an elected office through primary, there are no major rules that the RPT Chair has to deal with rogue county chairs. We should change that at the convention and establish clear expectations for County Chairs and Precinct Chairs regarding their duties and responsibilities.

Given the division within county partys, what combination of quorums, elected status, seniority etc would you support to prevent such division in the future?

I do not have a one-size-fits-all solution for all counties. As a former County Chair, I can tell you that each county chair should follow their own bylaws and standing rules. With so much division in county parties, sometimes caused by minority groups, it is a good idea for the state party to establish a basic skeleton of bylaws that can be used by all county parties. Another issue we are seeing with 254 different county bylaws is that we will have a hard time in court in the event of a lawsuit. The state party and the convention should be able to establish these basic apparatuses for the county parties based on our platform, principles, and priorities. Obviously, I believe each county should be able to govern itself. We are not a top-down organization but will advocate for resources.

Related to the previous question regarding fairness … and the issue of a conservative county chairman (and assuming that there was a pattern of unfairness), would you openly support replacement of the conservative chair over this matter? Even when you would be on the minority side?

I believe if a county chair is not doing their job, I will have a conversation and will need to figure out how we can move forward. The SREC is the governing body of the State Party, and these issues should be brought in front of that body. I will unapologetically enforce the decisions of the SREC.
