The mission of MCTP is to organize, educate present and future generations, inform, and elect our fellow citizens for the purpose of securing public policy consistent with our Core Values.

The MCTP Vetting Committee grades each candidate on a scale of 0-100 (100 is best). If candidate receives a score of 80 or more and receives the support of at least 75% of the vetting committee, the committee may recommend an "endorsement".

Ballot measures follow a similar process. Each ballot measure is graded on a 100 point scale. If the measure receives a grade of at least 80, the vetting committee recommends supporting the position. If the measure receives a grade of less than 50, the vetting committee recommends opposing the ballot measure. If the grade is between 50 and 80, the recommendation is to be neutral.

Vetting Committee recommendations are presented to the entire voting membership of MCTP, and a vote of 60% is required to release the information to the public. All 2014 and 2015 races evaluated by the Vetting Committee passed this threshold.

For more information on our overall, transparent process, please go to the Election tab of our MCTP website.
